    A Gradual

Redemption

Is a true story about seemingly impossible circumstances and the life changing impact an unexpected encounter with an unbelievable God has on a desperate young woman’s life. It’s a story that explores the outcome of choices and how through painstaking effort, faith can restore one’s soul and redefine one’s brokenness.

Chapter One - Redefining Moments

ABOVE ALL ELSE it’s the look in his eyes I remember. Not his bandaged, unshaven face, nor his medicinal smell that can still penetrate my nostrils if I allow myself to linger in the memorialized living room of my toddler home. I was three and it was Easter morning. My mother had dressed my sisters and me in the traditional Easter chiffon of most young Catholic girls, complete with white gloves and hats and the infamous black patent leather shoes shined to optimum brilliance. He was hard to look at, yet it was all I wanted to do. His eyes were kind, though his bandaged face frightened me. I didn’t understand at the time how sick he was. I was too young, and I certainly hadn’t yet developed the sense for picking up on the tension that hung in the room caused by his drunken behavior. I just wanted to twirl for my father, because in his eyes I would discover my own beauty, regardless of his stitched-up face and rank smell.

The Story Continues…

Book Cover for A Beautiful Redemption

   A Beautiful

Redemption

Journeying through heartache teaches a person a great many things. This is the continuation of one woman’s story where change and the unforeseen left her battered and aching, robbing the things she never surrendered and demanding what she never thought she could live without. Here Kelly details the trials and the lessons that came after A Gradual Redemption, setting an example in what she chose to do with the pieces she was left, but more importantly, to Whom she chose to look to restore them.   —Anna M. Williams-Waninger
